1. Introduction
JackRabbit ("the App") is a multiplayer and single-player cooperative card game developed by Louis-Olivier Beaulieu ("we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of data privacy and transparency.
This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and the privacy safeguards applied when you play JackRabbit on Apple iOS and Google Android devices.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
No User Accounts: JackRabbit does not require registration, login credentials, passwords, or personal identity verification. You play immediately as a guest or with a custom alias of your choice.
We do not collect or request:
- Real names, physical addresses, or phone numbers
- Email addresses or user account passwords
- Payment, credit card, or banking details (JackRabbit has no in-app purchases)
- Contacts, photos, media libraries, or files
- Precise GPS location data
- Microphone audio recordings or camera access
3. Data Processed for Core App Functionality
To enable local and multiplayer gameplay, JackRabbit processes the following minimal information:
- Player Alias: You may provide a nickname or use an automatically generated guest name. This alias is stored locally on your device and transmitted ephemerally to our game server solely to display your chosen name to fellow players in the active game lobby and during game rounds. It is not linked to any personal identifier and is discarded when the room closes.
- Local Settings & Preferences: Your audio volume levels (music and sound effects) and chosen theme color are stored strictly on your device to persist your visual and audio preferences between sessions.
4. Third-Party Advertising & Tracking Transparency
JackRabbit is supported by non-intrusive advertisements served through Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK).
App Tracking Transparency (ATT): On iOS devices, JackRabbit requests your authorization through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework to access your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) for personalized advertising and ad performance measurement. If you select “Ask App not to Track,” or if tracking is unavailable, all ad requests are strictly restricted to non-personalized ads only, and no cross-app tracking takes place.
Depending on your tracking preferences and platform privacy settings, third-party advertising SDKs such as Google AdMob may process certain technical diagnostics and non-identifying telemetry to serve ads, enforce frequency caps, detect fraud, and maintain service security:
- Device Identifiers: Advertising identifiers (IDFA, when authorized by you via ATT) or non-identifying technical identifiers (such as IDFV or session tokens) used for ad delivery, attribution, and security.
- Product Interaction & Advertising Data: Ad interaction telemetry (whether an ad was presented, viewed, or closed) for fraud detection, ad measurement, and reporting.
- Diagnostics: Performance metrics and crash logs processed by the SDK to diagnose application stability and prevent service interruptions.
None of this information is linked to your real identity. For more information on how Google processes data, please review the Google Privacy & Terms.
5. Children's Privacy
JackRabbit is designed for a general audience; however, we utilize Google AdMob to display advertisements configured strictly for adult audiences (18 years of age and older). To facilitate this, Google AdMob’s software development kit (SDK) is integrated into our app. Google and its third-party partners may automatically collect, share, and use certain data to serve, target, and measure the effectiveness of these advertisements. This automatically collected data includes, but is not limited to, your IP address, device model, operating system, and unique mobile advertising identifiers (such as Apple's IDFA or Google's Advertising ID). You can opt out of personalized advertising or reset your advertising identifiers at any time through the privacy settings on your mobile device.
6. Data Security & Retention
All network communications between the JackRabbit mobile app and our servers use secure protocols (HTTPS and WSS / TLS encryption). We do not operate persistent databases containing user profiles. Game room states and ephemeral player tokens are purged when game sessions terminate.
7. Your Privacy Rights & Choices
- Resetting Local Data: You can remove all locally stored game preferences and aliases at any time by uninstalling the application or clearing the application's storage in your device settings.
- Managing Ad Preferences: On iOS, you can manage system advertising settings under Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising. On Android, you can adjust settings under Settings > Google > Ads.
